This is commonly used in routesetting to install holds anywhere with just screws without the need for bolt hole.

It is also used to screw on light duty equipment like jump rope hangers onto wood surfaces, or false walls with the right false wall anchor. 

Never use one screw on its own. A typical 4mm screw has a pull out weight of about 60-80kg, depending on the thickness and quality of the plywood or lumber it is attached to. 

We recommend to use at least 3 screws per handhold or equipment you are mounting to plywood.
