Commercial Battling Rope with Rubber Handles
Length: 8m / 15m.
Diameter of Rope: 1.5".
Weight of Rope: 8kg / 15kg.
In the yarn making process of our battling ropes, we use Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY) also known as 牵伸丝 to our suppliers.
The alternative yarn making process is called Partially Oriented Yarn (POY). Partially oriented yarn is produced from the melting and extrusion (melt spinning) of the polyester chip or flake. During the spinning process the filaments are stretched or drawn as much as five times their original size to orient the polymer to meet the desired evenness, strength, shrinkage, and elongation properties. So the term partially oriented yarn refers to multi-filament that is only partially stretched. POY is generally lower tenacity and less uniform than fully drawn yarn (FDY).
POY is mainly used in texturizing to make textured yarn and can also be used in draw warping for weaving and warp knitting of fabrics. FDY is produced by a process similar to POY manufacturing except that the yarn is produced at even higher spinning speeds coupled with intermediate drawing integrated in the process itself. This allows stabilization through orientation and crystallization.
Our FDY Polyester yarn is used for industrial applications requiring uniformity and consistent tenacity, elongation, and shrinkage. In terms of cost, POY is half the price of FDY, but it is not as durable and would split and spoil much easily.
It’s hard to tell the difference from online photos, but we can assure you our battling ropes are sourced and built to last as we are as concerned about quality as you are!
The 8m length is suitable for boutique gyms or smaller areas while the 15m length is suitable for outdoors and bigger gyms.
